Yo La Tengo, Mark Lanegan, J Mascis, My Morning Jacket and The Roots are among a string of acts lined up to perform Bob Dylan songs at a special event in New York.
Calexico, Cat Power and Lee Ranaldo are also on the bill for the event, being held to celebrate the release of Todd Haynes’ Dylan biopic ‘I’m Not There’.
The Beacon Theatre will host the event, entitled ‘I’m Not There: In Concert’, on November 7. Most of the acts feature on the double-disc soundtrack, including Yo La Tengo, who perform ‘Fourth Time Around’ with Buckwheat Zydeco, and Lee Ranaldo who peforms ‘Can’t Leave Her Behind’. Ranaldo also teamed up with his band Sonic Youth to record the title track for the movie.
The soundtrack to ‘I’m Not There’ is set for release on October 30.
