Wilco, Fleet Foxes give away Bob Dylan cover to US voters Wilco Tickets
Bands encourage participation in presidential election
Wilco and Fleet Foxes are giving away a free MP3 of their cover of Bob Dylan's song 'I Shall Be Released' to voters in the 2008 US presidential election.
In order to get the free audio file, the bands are asking listeners to visit Wilco's website and check a box stating "I pledge to VOTE in the 2008 Election." Those who check the box and enter their name and email address will have the audio file sent to them.
In a posting on their website, Wilco also wrote: "If you can spare it, we also encourage you to consider a donation to (food bank charity) Feeding America (and please feel free to pass this link along to friends, family members, etc.)."
The bands recorded the tune together at a show in Bend, Oregon on August 23.
