Bob Dylan has posted his first ever Facebook status update in the wake of Barack Obama's US election victory.

Dylan, who has over 4 million "likes" on his official Facebook page, posted a status update prior to the confirmation that Obama would serve a second term as US President. The Facebook status read:

Here's pretty close to what I said last night in Madison. I said from the stage that we had to play better than good tonight, that the president was here today and he’s a hard act to follow. Also, that we’re not fooled by the media and we think it’s going to be a landslide. That’s pretty much all of it.

Dylan predicted a landslide on Monday night at a concert in the 'battleground' state of Wisconsin. Appearing in the city of Madison, where Barack Obama had appeared at a morning rally the same day, Dylan told the crowd: "We tried to play good tonight since the president was here today... Don't believe the media. I think it's going to be a landslide."

Obama secured his second term in office by winning the vote in almost all of the key swing states. The Democrats are expected to hold House whilst the Republican party look set to take Senate.

Many other musicians, bands and artists were talking about the US election last night (November 6). Scroll through the Tweets below to see how musicians reacted to the events of the night and Obama's victory:
