JUBILEE 2000: STUFF THE DEBT Bob Geldof Tickets
Petition calls on G8 to drop debts of developing nations...
BONE, Bob Geldof and The Edge lead a human chain of thousands of demonstrators in Colgne yesterday where the meeting of the G8 nations was winding up.
Bono presented the G8 with a petition signed by millions of people from all over the world calling on western governments and banks to drop crippling debts which are holding back development in impoverished third world countries.
The protest follows others staged across Europe over the weekend including that staged by a broad coalition of debt protesters, s and animal rights activists that ended in a riot in the City of London on Friday.
