Bobby Brown enters rehab
Singer's wife and manager says he's 'in a good place' after seeking help for alcohol problem
The Daily Mirror says that the singer, who released his latest studio album 'The Masterpiece' in June of this year, was admitted to a "confidential rehabilitation centre" last week as part of an agreement following his arrest for drink driving in March of this year.
Brown, who was also apprehended for using a mobile phone while driving, entered the facility during a break from touring with his band New Editions and shortly after he had returned from his honeymoon with his new wife, and manager, Alicia Etheridge-Brown.
Etheridge-Brown, who married the singer in June of this year, said that her husband was "in a good place" and added: "Bobby's children and loved ones are very proud of him. We appreciate his fans prayers and well wishes."
His lawyer Christopher Brown, meanwhile, added: "Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour. Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California."
In May of this year, Brown hit back at claims that he was responsible for the drug addiction of his ex-wife, the late Whitney Houston. She died on February 11 at the age of 48, after she was discovered underwater and unconscious in a bath in a hotel in Beverly Hills. On March 22 a coroner revealed the cause of death as drowning combined with heart disease and cocaine use.
