BONO'S THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN!
[a]U2[/a] frontman and his band to debut new material on film soundtrack...
Bono has recorded three solo tracks and U2 have recorded two brand new songs for the soundtrack of [/b]'THE MILLION DOLLAR HOTEL'[/b], the film that the U2 frontman also wrote.
Two other songs on the soundtrack include a version of Lou Reed's 'Satellite Of Love', with vocals by Milla Jovovich, who stars in the movie, and a Spanish version of The Sex Pistols' 'Anarchy In The UK'.
However, neither of these were recorded by U2, as reported elsewhere.
Although no other titles on the soundtrack can be confirmed yet, a spokesperson for U2 told nme.com that one of the Bono solo songs fetaured on the film is 'The Ground Beneath Her Feet'.
As previously reported on nme.com, the song was inspired by the Salman Rushdie novel of the same name, and the infamous author wrote the words, while singer Bono wrote the music.
It's rumoured that the track will be released as a single from the soundtrack, which is due out on Universal/Island just before the film sees it's UK release in April.
The premier of 'The Million Dollar Hotel', directed by Wim Wenders and also starring Mel Gibson, is at the Berlin Film Festival on February 9.
U2 are also hoping to finish their forthcoming album soon. It's due out late summer, also through Universal/Island.
