Turkey to sing in Eurovision?

Puppet could perform for Ireland

Ireland, it seems, has fallen fowl in this year's Eurovision contest after a kid’s TV show puppet, Dustin The Turkey, made the shortlist to represent the country.

The public will decide who wins from a shortlist of six later this month - but Dustin is the bookies' favourite to come out on top.

The puppet, created by the makers of Nineties breakfast TV stars Zig and Zag, gained fame on children’s TV show 'Den', and has released three albums and plenty of singles, including the hilariously named 'Poultry In Motion'.

Frank McNamara, who has written two Eurovision winners, told Radio 1's Newsbeat that Dustin The Turkey’s inclusion was “absolutely disgraceful”.

The song in question, called 'Ireland Douze Points', references Bono and Terry Wogan and apologises for Riverdance.
