Bono to host RED auction this Thursday in New York

Michael Stipe, Moby, Q-Tip and more will attend

Bono and Damien Hirst are set to host the (RED) auction at Sotheby’s in New York this Thursday (February 14), at an event which will be attended by a host of stars.

Works of art have been donated by Banksy, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Damien Hirst and more, and attendees at the auction are set to include artists Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor Wood and Marc Quinn, among others.

Actors Josh Hartnett, Ed Burns and Dennis Hopper are due to show up to show their support, as are former supermodels Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington. Q-Tip and Moby will also attend.

The auction was conceived by Bono and Damien Hirst and will raise money for the treatment of HIV/AIDs in Africa.
