KEITH'S CARVERY

THE BOO RADLEYS' Martin Carr has formed a new band called Brave Captain - and they make their debut on a new LP compiled by NME's Keith Cameron.

The track, called 'The Monk Jumps Over The Wall', is the first material to be released by Carr since The Boo Radleys split earlier this year and was specifically recorded for 'The Carve-Up', named after and inspired by Cameron's former Xfm radio show, axed by Capital Radio when they took over the station.

'The Carve-Up' also features an exclusive version of 'The Mercy Seat' by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds recorded especially for the show, a previously unreleased track from Mogwai called 'Nick Drake', and a new Arab Strap recording, a cover of the Black Sabbath song 'Changes'.

Appendix Out, Aerial M, DJ Scud, The Nectarine No 9 and Kirk Lake have also lent exclusive tracks to the record.

'The Carve-Up' is released through Loose Recordings on August 30.

Keith Cameron will also be supporting Mogwai as DJ on their forthcoming tour.
