‘Bourne’ director writing Martin Luther King Jr biopic

Paul Greengrass' new film will be called 'Memphis'

The Bourne Supremacy and …Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass is working on a biopic of Martin Luther King Jr.

New York Magazine reports that the film will be entitled Memphis.

It is the third King film in development, with the others being a film from Steven Spielberg and Selma from Lee Daniels, the director of Precious.

The new film by Greengrass will centre on King‘s visit to Memphis in support of the black sanitation workers’ strike of 1968, the scene of the Civil Rights leader’s assassination.

The magazine reports that producer Scott Rudin is trying to get Focus Features to make the film.
