Boyzone are working on a tribute album to late member Stephen Gately.

The boyband told Sky News the record will feature two tracks that include vocals recorded by the singer before his death last month (October 10).

Ronan Keating told the news source: "He was so excited about this [album], he actually texted me just before he went out on the night he died and he said he couldn't wait to get started.

"I had never seen Stephen so full of life, so happy, so healthy and just so alive. That's what's making his death all the harder for us."

Gately was found dead in his apartment in Port d'Andratx, Majorca by his partner Andrew Cowles on October 10.

A subsequent post-mortem ruled the singer died of natural causes, with a pulmonary oedema cited in official papers.

Gately's life was celebrated at a funeral in Dublin on October 17, which saw Irish first minister Bertie Ahern, Jason Donovan and 'X Factor' judge and former Boyzone manager Louis Walsh attend.
