The Killers' Brandon Flowers has been named the Most Stylish person of the last year at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 tonight (February 23).

Although Flowers could not make the awards, which took place at London's O2 Academy Brixton, he spoke to NME beforehand to say he took his look very seriously indeed.

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't pay attention to style," he admitted, before comparing himself to some of the other nominees: Paramore's Hayley Williams, Lady Gaga, Liam Gallagher and Noel Fielding.

"I would assume that Lady Gaga was more stylish that me and Liam. I'm kind of a combination of the two," he said. "Style has always been important to me".

Lady Gaga won the Best Dressed award last year.
