Brian Wilson gets some special help

Brian Wilson is to be joined by his ex-Beach Boys bandmate Al Jardine for a series of performances of the band’s classic 1966 album ‘Pet Sounds’.

The legend will be playing a series of shows to mark the 40th anniversary of the seminal album’s release. Jardine will play with Wilson’s band in Boston (November 17), Washington (18), Glenside (19) and New York (21).

There are currently no plans for Jardine to perform at the shows in Los Angeles on November 1 and London on November 12.

Jardine has not performed with Wilson in decades, and his been touring with his own version of The Beach Boys, using names such as Beach Boys Family & Friends.

Wilson has spend most of this decade touring with ‘Pet Sounds’ as the centrepiece of his set, though he recent took the newly-completed ‘Smile’ on the road.

The London show, at the Adelphi Theatre, is billed as the last time Wilson will ever perform ‘Pet Sounds’ in full in the UK.

The full list of Brian Wilson dates is as follows:

Los Angeles Royce Hall (November 1)
London Adelphi Theatre (12)
Boston Orpheum Theatre (17)
Washington (venue TBA) (18)
Glenside Keswick Theatre (19)
New York Beacon Theatre (21)
