Brian Wilson honoured with art exhibition

The Beach Boys legend's work is celebrated in Cornwall

Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson’s work is being celebrated in a show of art since 1960 that evokes ‘his life and music’.

‘If Everybody Had On Ocean’ takes place at the Tate St Ives in Cornwall, and runs until September 23.

According to the Tate’s website, the exhibition has three main phases - the first considers the interplay between avant-garde art and popular culture, the second features ‘psychedelic’ style imagery leading into music, while the third is said to “evoke the gap between the popular image of The Beach Boys and Wilson’s own more turbulent internal world”.

Brian Wilson returns to the UK in the autumn to play a run of shows at the revamped Royal Festival Hall in London. The run, from September 10-16, will feature a brand new work from the star.
