Bring Me The Horizon have said that they aren't fazed by the negative online reaction to their announcement that they will be the main support band on Machine Head's UK arena tour later this year.

The Sheffield band will play four dates with the San Francisco metal survivors at the end of 2011, but the announcement that they were to be part of the bill caused a torrent of online bile from commentors who don't believe they should share the bill with Machine Head.

Speaking to NME in a video which you can watch by scrolling up to the top of your screen, bassist Matt Kean and guitarist Lee Malia said that the band actively enjoy playing to angry crowds and see the four-date trek as a chance to win over new fans.

Asked why they took the slot, Kean replied:

They [Machine Head] asked us because they're big fans. We're never put off doing stuff by anyone. We enjoy playing when crowds are angry too.

Malia added:

You're always going to get someone who hates you. The fact that you can piss someone off by doing pretty much nothing is funny to us. We'll just go and annoy people.

The band also said that they will begin work on the follow-up to 'There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret' next spring and hopefully will be in the studio by the summer.

Bring Me The Horizon tour with Machine Head, Devildriver and Darkest Hour in December.
