Producer/solo star beats Mika to the gong

Mark Ronson won the Best British Male award tonight (February 20) at the Brit Awards in London.

Ronson beat Mika to the award, who was hotly-tipped to take home his second gong of the night.

“I’ve never felt so British or male before in my life,” Ronson said after accepting the award from guest presenter Beth Ditto. “I didn’t think my chances were great. I’d just like to say thank you to everybody here.”

Ronson said thanks to a variety of people, and paid tribute to Amy Winehouse and late rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Newton Faulkner, Jamie T, Richard Hawley and Mika were also nominated for the award.

His versions are so much better than the originals, he's incredibly talented and I'm chuffed to bits he won

Yeah, forget Richard Hawley, one of the most talented songwriters around today. Instead, let's give the award to someone who neither write nor sings on any of "his" songs. Pathetic.

How can this man and all of his pathetic Brit School chums get all these awards.
They have been fast-tracked into the music industry just because they have been to this poncy academy!
And not one of them deserve the fame they're getting.
Ronson has ruined pefectly good songs and made them into a franchise.

I am not saying Mark Ronson hasn't got some talent but please .... the award should have gone to someone who can write their own songs and can actually sing them ...
