Singer sees off competition from Rihanna and Alicia Keys

Kylie Minogue won the Best International Female award at the Brit Awards 2008 tonight (February 20) in London.

Minogue received the award from actor David Tennant, who she recently starred alongside in the ‘Doctor Who’ BBC TV series.

After accepting the award from Tennant, Minogue, who had performed earlier in the event, said, “Girls, I kow you’re al extremely jealous right now,” referring to being up close to Tennant.

“This is incredible,” she continued, before thanking various music industry organisations followed by her friends, family and co-workers and her fans.

“I’m extremely grateful and thankful,” she said, before leaving the stage.

Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Feist and Bjork had also been nominated for the award.
