British Sea Power perform handstands and piggy-backs at Reading Festival

British Sea Power capped an anthemic performance on Reading Festival's Main Stage this afternoon (August 23) by giving each other piggy-backs and performing handstands in front of the crowd.

The band played a set largely reliant on Mercury Music Prize-nominated album 'Do You Like Rock Music?', including the likes of 'Atom', 'Down On The Ground' and 'No Lucifer'.

A section of fans towards the front of the crowd took to waving collected shrubbery, twigs and leaves in the air, much to the guitarist Noble's delight.

Midway through final song 'Spirit Of St Louis', the guitarist downed his instrument, took a gulp of water and made his way over the barrier and towards the fans. Upon reaching them, he proceeded to 'water' their shrubbery, before returning to the stage and taking a bow.

With the band still performing the song, Noble attempted to give a piggy-back to their trumpet player, unsuccessfully.

Frontman Yan and bassist Hamilton finished the band's set by performing symmetrical handstands, drawing a huge applause from the crowd.
