British Sea Power have completed the recording of their new album, and have also released initial details of their forthcoming Tan Hill Festival.

Blogging on Britishseapower.co.uk, guitarist Noble explained that the Brighton band are now putting the finishing touches to some other new tracks, which are likely to end up as B-sides or on an EP, including a nine-minute song called 'Retreat'.

"Good news! We have finished mixing the album," he wrote. "We're currently mixing some EP/B-side tracks now. As the call of sleep grows, we are mixing non-album track 'Retreat'. A nine-minute, Isle Of Skye, stargazing sleeping pill."

British Sea Power are set to appear at this year's Tan Hill Festival, which the band are again curating – it takes place at Yorkshire's Tan Hill Inn from April 30 to May 2.

Noble also defended the festival's raised ticket price of £75, saying: "We actually lost money putting on the 2008 event, and this time we have booked more bands," he wrote. "But if you're not happy with this cowering justification, I'll buy you a pint and clean your shoes if you think yourself hard done by."

Tickets for the festival go on sale on March 19 at 9am (GMT). The line-up is yet to be announced.
