British Sea Power are set to play at Club NME KOKO's New Year's Eve Ball in London on December 31. Joe and Will Ask? and Fiction will also help ring in 2011.

British Sea Power's Phil Sumner, who plays cornet and keyboards, told NME that, despite his band being ill at the moment, they're ready to "get shitfaced" and kick off New Year's Eve at KOKO.

"We're basically gonna get shitfaced," he said, "so come and do it with us! That's what it’s all about, isn't it? By the time it hits the new year, everyone starts getting depressed again. With the new album ['Valhalla Dancehall'] coming out 10 days later, it’s a reason to keep cheerful."

He also revealed that there might be some special guests turning up for the night. “There might be some celebrities turning up onstage," he said. "It's under wraps at the minute, but there's going to be a well-known Sea Power fan joining us. A couple might be turning up, actually."

Tickets are available to buy from KOKO.uk.com. The following week (January 7) Katalina Kicks will perform at Club NME, while Silvery will be headlining on January 14.
