Tabloid Hell: Did anti-depressants cause Britney's botched 'comeback'?

Britney Spears reportedly took several anti-depressant pills just minutes before stepping on stage to perform at MTV's VMA Awards on Sunday (September 9).

This may help explain why she appeared out of sorts and out of step during her performance.

According to Dotmusic, sources close to Spears said that she was nervous before the performance, which caused her to lash out at her hairdresser.

The source added that she then decided to take the anti-depressants to relax, but ended up taking more than she needed.
