Tabloid Hell: Is there a contract hit on Britney's ex?
FBI rumoured to have tried to warn Kevin Federline of danger
ET.com reported that the FBI have attempted to contact Spears' ex-husband to 'inform him of the potential danger', and have been working on the case for two months.
However, later today TMZ.COM said that the LAPD previously investigated a threat to Federline but, according to a Los Angeles FBI spokesperson, the FBI were never involved.
Federline, who was married to Spears for two years, is also the father of their two boys Jayden James and Sean Preston. He is currently embroiled in a custody battle with Spears.
Lawyers for the pair are currently in a closed hearing in a Los Angeles court. As previously reported, a secret witness (believed to be Spears' former bodyguard 'Big Tony') is also present who has information that could see Spears fail in her bid to gain custody of her children.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Spears has been dropped by her lawyer Laura Wassar and is now to be represented by Marci Levine.
