Hard-Fi: 'Our cover of 'Toxic' will send Britney mad'

Richard Archer says singer should avoid their cover

Hard-Fi: 'Our cover of 'Toxic' will send Britney mad'
Hard-Fi have admitted they might send Britney Spears over the edge if she ever hears their cover of ’Toxic’.

The band have recorded the track for 'Radio 1. Established 1967', an album celebrating the station’s 40th anniversary.

The compilation takes a track from every year of Radio 1’s existence, and Hard-Fi have tackled the Spears single for 2004.

Their version sees them fusing ’Toxic’ with The Clash’s version of ’Brand New Cadillac’.

Frontman Richard Archer believes that the pop singer – recently dropped by her management following a series of public humiliations, most notably a cringe-worthy performance at the VMAs - would hate their version.

“I think the poor girl’s been through enough,” noted Archer. “This might be the final straw.”
