Britney Spears' album release date pushed forward
Label cites internet leaks as the reason
Britney Spears' album release date has been pushed forward, her label Jive Records announced today (October 10).
'Blackout' will now be coming out October 30, two weeks earlier than the originally intended November 13 release date.
The label said that it decided to release the album early in order to "prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs," including the leaking of "unfinished material and demos represented as completed legitimate songs" to the internet, reports the Associated Press.
Spears' first single from the album, 'Gimme More', has risen from Number 68 to Number 3 on the US Billboard chart in the past week.
