Paul McCartney declares divorce is 'like hell'
The Beatles man confesses to pain caused by split
Paul McCartney has compared his divorce to hell.
The former Beatle is currently battling former wife Heather Mills over their divorce settlement.
The couple failed to reach a private settlement and McCartney is at present attempting to halt legal action for libel and breach of privacy by his estranged wife against a number of newspapers.
McCartney said that he was “going through hell” and added that the experience was “a very painful thing,” explaining that he had vowed not to talk about the split with his second wife.
However, he did say: “As Winston Churchill once said, ‘if you’re going through hell, keep going'.
“The only solution is to remain dignified. If I don’t keep a silence about it, I lose this idea of being dignified.”
The singer told Radio Times: “Music is the therapy for me. In fact, going through difficulties has only concentrated my desire to make good music.”
