New policy relegates Britney Spears to Number Two

The Eagles have landed at the Number One spot on the US Billboard chart this week, due to a new policy instituted by Billboard.

‘Long Road Out Of Eden’ -- the band’s first studio album in 28 years -- took the top spot now that titles available via one retailer are eligible to appear on the Billboard chart.

The Eagles’ album, which is being sold primarily through Wal-Mart stores in the US, moved approximately 711,000 copies in the past week.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears’ new album ‘Blackout’ was pushed back to Number Two as a result of the new rule, selling 290,000 copies its first week out.
