Britney Spears makes brief appearance at custody hearing

But she leaves before entering the courtroom

Britney Spears finally arrived at the Los Angeles courthouse where she was due to appear at her child custody hearing today (January 14), but she never made it as far as the courtroom.

The pop star reportedly arrived at the hearing very late, but decided to leave again after her vehicle was mobbed by photographers.

"Move back, I'm scared. Stop it. Stop it. I want to get back in the car. Just stop it. Let me get in the car, please!" Spears shouted at photographers, according to TMZ.com.

She then climbed back into her vehicle and drove to a church near her home in the San Fernando Valley, all the while being trailed by photographers. The singer was then seen eating at a local restaurant before making her way back home.

This is just the latest in a series of bizarre incidents involving Spears. She was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital last week for psychological evaluation after a police standoff in which she refused to hand over her son to ex-husband Kevin Federline's bodyguard.

Spears was due to appear in court today with her ex-husband to see if she would be granted visitation rights with her two sons after they were temporarily suspended last week.

It was later announced that the order suspending Spears' visitation rights would continue, with Federline maintaining custody of the children.

Federline and his lawyer were present at the hearing, which is expected to continue tomorrow (January 15).

This is what I think; I for one have never been a Britney Spears fan and I never will, however I do feel bad for her not out of pity but kinda out of empathy. I have bi-polar and if she has it as well, that can very well be what is going on with her. Bi-polar can cause you to act without thinking or flat out carelessly. I feel she needs to give in a little and get evaluated and get the correct help. I can understand not wanting the stigma of an illness no matter what the illenss maybe. She needs to get help for herself in order to be a better mother and in the long run will be beneficial for her children if she gets help. I am afraid if she doesn't get help she could easily commit suicide or seriously harm someone else if not end in a fatality.
