Britney Spears' lawyer objects to paying ex's legal fees

Kevin Federline can pay his own way, they say

Britney Spears is trying to get out of paying excessive legal fees for her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

The pop star has reportedly already spent approximately $1 million on legal fees in her child custody case, and is objecting to having to pay another half-million dollars to Federline's lawyers.

Spears' attorney Stacy Phillips told a Los Angeles court commissioner today (March 10) that Federline's lawyers are only entitled to about $150,000 to $175,000, reports the Associated Press.

She added that Federline can afford to pay his own legal fees.

Federline and his attorney say that their claims are legitimate because the case is unusually complicated.
