Britney Spears begins work on new album
Could the troubled pop star be turning over a new leaf?
Britney Spears is hard at work on a new album, her label announced today (July 16).
The pop star, who has become better known in recent months for her erratic behaviour, paparazzi exploits and high-profile child custody hearing than her music, is apparently attempting to shift her to focus back onto her craft.
"(Spears) is spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand new album," her label, Jive Records, and her manager said in a statement to the Associated Press.
"She's working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters and we're very excited about what she's accomplished so far. No album release date has been confirmed yet," they said.
Spears' most recent album 'Blackout' debuted at Number Two on the US Billboard chart last November, but sales of the album quickly declined.
