Britney Spears discusses new album
Pop star says it has an 'urban' feel
The pop star has been recording the follow-up to last year's 'Blackout', and told OK! magazine that she has been doing more writing on this album than any of her previous records.
"I'm writing every day, right here at the piano," Spears said. "I think it is more urban. This is my best work ever," she added.
The pop star, who has become better known in recent months for her erratic behaviour, paparazzi exploits and high-profile child custody hearing than her music, is apparently attempting to shift her to focus back onto her craft.
Her label, Jive Records, and her manager issued a statement last month saying that Spears is spending the summer in the recording studio "working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters".
'Blackout' debuted at Number Two on the US Billboard chart last November, but sales of the album quickly declined.
