Driving case against Britney Spears completely dismissed
The pop star is off the hook
The case against Britney Spears for driving without a valid Californian license has been completely dismissed.
After jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict yesterday (October 21), voting 10 to 2 in favour of Spears' acquittal, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Steele declared a mistrial, as previously reported.
Soon afterwards, prosecutors told the judge they were dropping the matter, which resulted the complete dismissal of the case, reports the Associated Press.
The charges stemmed from an incident in Los Angeles last August in which Spears was photographed hitting a parked car and leaving the scene.
Spears' attorney declared the outcome a victory. The dismissal spares the singer from having a criminal record.
