Britney Spears, Oasis, Amy Winehouse 'most searched' of 2008
Yahoo poll shows music beat the likes of Heath Ledger and 'EastEnders' online
Britney Spears, Oasis and Amy Winehouse have finished ahead of Heath Ledger, Kate Moss and 'EastEnders' in search engine Yahoo's league of the UK's most-searched words and phrases of 2008.
'Britney Spears' was the phrase most-searched by UK residents, followed by 'Big Brother' and 'The X Factor'.
Along with Oasis and Amy Winehouse she is one of three musical entries in the list.
The top ten most searched phrases by UK residents on Yahoo in 2008 so far are:
1. Britney Spears
2. 'Big Brother'
3. 'The X Factor'
4. Oasis
5. 'High School Musical 3'
6. US election
7. Amy Winehouse
8. Heath Ledger
9. Kate Moss
10. 'EastEnders'
