However - UK fans will have to wait - 'Hold It Against Me' is not due to come out in Britain until February 20.

The singer confirmed the release details on her official Twitter page, Twitter.com/britneyspears, following the recent leak of a demo of the song.

"Heard an early demo of my new single leaked," Spears tweeted. "If u think that's good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday."

The studio version of the single, which will also be available to hear on US radio from tomorrow (January 11), has since leaked online.

Meanwhile, Spears also posted a picture of what is thought to be the artwork for the single on her Twitter page (pictured). She has previously said that the album, which is currently untitled and her first since 2008's 'Circus', is scheduled for release in March.
