Britney Spears reveals new album title

The pop star will release her eighth LP on December 3

Britney Spears has revealed that her new album will be called 'Britney Jean'.

The pop singer will release her eighth album on December 3. It is the follow-up to 2011's 'Femme Fatale'.

"It's a personal album, and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean," she told London's Capital FM Radio in an interview you can watch above. "It's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans."

Spears hinted that there may be some high-profile collaborations on the album, but she remained tight-lipped about who these would be.

The first track from the album 'Work Bitch' was unveiled last month (September). However, will.i.am, who serves as a producer on the album, says the track is not necessarily a reflection of the whole record.

"The album is what the album is, but we felt that song needed to come out to keep the foundation on what Britney represents," he said. "But it shouldn't reflect the album - an album is a body of work as a collective. If we had to pick a song like, 'Oh, what song fits every colour of the record', you shouldn't do that… We felt that song represents 'Piece of Me,' that Britney oomph."

It was recently reported that Spears will head to the Lake District to work on tracks for the album with UK producer, and Tinie Tempah collaborator Naughty Boy as a producer on the project. He is apparently planning to take her to Cumbria for creative inspiration.

As well as Naughty Boy, collaborators are rumoured to include Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange, William Orbit and Sia.
