BRITNEY CANCELS PROMO SCHEDULE
BRITNEY SPEARS has cancelled her scheduled promotional trips to EUROPE and SOUTH AMERICA in wake of the terrorist activity in the US.

Spears is in Australia for promotional activity in preparation for the release of her new single 'I Am A Slave For U'.

Following her trip to Australia, she was scheduled to visit Europe and South America for more promotion. However, this has now been cancelled.

A statement reads: "After much thought and deliberation it is with great regret that I have decided to cancel my planned European and Latin American promotion trips.

"Many of our party including myself have spoken to our families and need to be with them at this sad time for America and for the entire world. We are currently unable to get flights back to the United States, so we plan to stay in Australia until this is possible.

"Until we leave, and shortly after we get back, I will make myself available for any interviews that can be rescheduled to take place in the United States.

"I realise that this will be a big disappointment to my fans and the media involved in and around the territory visits and launch events that were planned to take place in Cologne and Rio De Janeiro.

"I truly apologise to you all for this inconvenience and trust you will understand my decision to return home, and spend time with my family and loved ones."

Spears' Australian visit has not been without disruption either. A press conference yesterday (September 13) was pulled, according to Canadian music website, www.canoe.ca, and the star has also dedicated her forthcoming live appearances in Australia to the New York and Washington dead.
