Danger Mouse and The Shins' James Mercer's new band Broken Bells have made a song from their forthcoming album available as a free download.

The pair have put 'The High Road', set to feature on their self-titled album (out March 8), up on Brokenbells.com for 24 hours from today (December 21).

Speaking of recording the album, Danger Mouse told NME.COM: "It was very easy. We didn’t put any pressure on ourselves so there was nothing we trying to achieve or could fall short of, and we work together really, really well. We did it all together, it was all in the same studio, with couple of great engineers."

Tune into NME Radio from 5pm (GMT) this evening (December 21) to hear Iain Baker speaking exclusively with Broken Bells. Simply head to Sky Channel 0184, Virgin Media 975, Freesat 727, DAB in London or NME.COM/radio.

See NME soon for more from the pair about their debut album.
