The duo, comprised of The Shins' singer James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse, debuted the song during a session for LA Blogotheque as well as recording a bare-bones performance of the previously released track 'October'.

'The Changing Lights' is set to be included on their forthcoming album 'After The Disco', which is the follow-up to their 2010 debut and will be released on February 4. Mercer appears in this week's NME, which is on newsstands or available digitally now, as part of a rundown of 100 albums to look forward to in 2014 containing exclusive studio reports and photos. Speaking about the song, he said: "I hear this and picture Brian in New York on [Lower East Side street] the Bowery, late-night drinking. It’s very nostalgic."

Previously, the pair posted a teaser trailer for the album, which you can also see below. Broken Bells also released a four-track collection, called 'Meyrin Fields', in March 2011. Since releasing Broken Bells EP in 2011, James Mercer returned to The Shins for their 2012 album 'Port Of Morrow' while Danger Mouse has worked with The Black Keys, Norah Jones and Electric Guest.
