BOX FROM BOSS: SPRINGSTEEN OUTTAKES MEGA-SET DUE
Bruce Springsteen is to release a box set of out-takes from the sessions for each of his albums, right back to 1973's 'Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ'.

Springsteen's back catalogue is also being repackaged ahead of his expected induction into the Rock'N'Roll Hall Of Fame at the beginning of next year. Springsteen has spent the past two months working on overdubs and mixes of old tracks in a New York studio with longtime producer Chuck Plotkin.

Sources say the boxed set, which will probably be released by Columbia in November, could feature as many as 75 to 100 songs on six CDs. It is expected the package will include early demos and sessions cut under the guidance of legendary Columbia A&R man John Hammond, who, with Clive Davis, signed Springsteen to the label in 1972.

An anthology of Springsteen's lyrics is also due for publication at the end of the year by Avon Books. The book features a mini-autobiography written by Springsteen as well as lengthy descriptions of the recording process for each album. Avon paid £500,000 for the book, which will be published in early December.
