Bruce Springsteen sued over a horse named Pavarotti

Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa are being sued by an Olympic esquestrian who says the pair got cold feet on a deal to buy a horse worth $850,000 for their teenage daughter Jessica.

The Boss and his wife reportedly agreed to pay Todd Minikus $650,000 for a horse named Pavarotti, and also give him their horse Scarlett, worth $200,000.

The Associated Press reports that the lawsuit says the couple signed a contract and paid a $25,000 deposit for the horse, and then later changed their minds after Minikus rode Pavarotti at the Pan American Games in Brazil.

The lawsuit calls the issue “a simple matter of parties on one side of a contract getting cold feet” and calls the Springsteens the “cold-footed parties.”

Minikus is seeking damages and wants to be compensated for the maintenance of Pavarotti.

Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band continue their tour tonight at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
