Bruce Springsteen tipped for Super Bowl 2009
But the NFL says nothing is confirmed yet
The New Jersey native will be the latest in a string of international superstars to take to the stage during the mammoth sporting event which will take place in Tampa, FL.
However, despite the rampant rumours, the NFL are refusing to confirm that The Boss will perform on the night
"We don't talk about our talent discussions," spokesman Brian McCarthy told Variety: “We don't have any talent confirmed for the Super Bowl.”
The Super Bowl halftime slot is much-coveted among the world’s stars, with a viewership of in excess of 90 million. Previous performers have including The Rolling Stones, Prince and Janet Jackson, whose controversial ‘wardrobe malfunction’ in 2004 caused an investigation by the FCC.
