Bruce Springsteen pens song for wrestling film
The film is set to be released this year
Bruce Springsteen has written the closing track for new Darren Aronofsky-directed film 'The Wrestler'.
The movie stars Mickey Rourke as Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: a veteran wrestler struggling to make a living in the ring.
Writing on the Darren Aronofsky blog, the director said: "Bruce Springsteen wrote a beautiful original song for the closing the film.
"Called 'The Wrestler', it is a wonderful acoustic piece. Makes me choke up every time I hear it. He really captured the spirit of the film and Mickey's character in the piece."
The film is expected to be released later this year.
Aronofsky's credits include the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated 2000 movie 'Requiem For A Dream'.
