Elvis Costello has covered two classic Bruce Springsteen tracks in the run up to the release of the New Jersey legend's new album, 'Wrecking Ball'.

Costello – backed by The Roots – appeared on the US talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night (March 1) to perform both 'Brilliant Disguise' from Springsteen's 1987 album 'Tunnel of Love' and 'Fire', which was originally covered by The Pointer Sisters on their 1978 album 'Energy'. Scroll down to watch both songs.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon put on a Bruce Springsteen Week to celebrate next week's release of 'Wrecking Ball'. Out March 5, Springsteen has said the album is angrily patriotic. Speaking to The Guardian, he said: "There is a real patriotism underneath the best of my music but it is a critical, questioning and often angry patriotism."

The album, which follows 2009's 'Working On A Dream' and 2010's outtakes collection 'The Promise', features an appearance from Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello.

Springsteen will deliver the keynote speech at South By Southwest on March 15 in Austin, Texas and also perform a small, intimate show for which tickets will be given out to festival badgeholders via a draw. He then kicks off his US tour three days later in Atlanta.

He will visit the UK in the summer, beginning at Sunderland Stadium of Light on June 21 before moving on to Manchester Etihad Stadium (22), Isle Of Wight Festival (24) and London Hard Rock Calling (July 14).
