CASTLE RAWK!

And here's a shock - It's not [a]Richard Ashcroft[/a] or The Corrs...

After much speculation, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams rather than Richard Ashcroft has been confirmed to headline this year's Slane Castle concert in Ireland on Saturday, August 26.

Stereophonics turned down the opportunity to headline the event in favour of a slot at the Reading Festival, which takes place over the same weekend. Since then, both Richard Ashcroft and The Corrs have been hotly tipped to take the top slot, but promoters MCD have confirmed that neither act will be featured on the bill.

Moby, Macy Gray, Melanie C, Eagle Eye Cherry, Muse and new Irish artist Dara make up the rest of the line-up. Dara is a local Dublin songwriter who is managed by Lord Henry Mount Charles, the owner of Slane Castle.
