BACHARACH SUES VENUE

The ageing songwriting legend is claiming damages after slipping in a darkened venue and injuring his shoulder...

BURT BACHARACH is suing a US venue for $15 million after injuring his shoulder in a soundcheck there.

The 71-year-old musician, who was due to be playing the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis on April 5 2000, slipped and injured his shoulder in the darkened venue while soundchecking.

The venue's owner, Melvin Simon, is named as one of the defendants through his real estate investment company Melvin Simon And Associates, as is Claypool Holdings LLC.

The complaint says that Bacharach fell because of inadequate lighting.
