Busta Rhymes was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon on Saturday (August 19).
The rapper was allegedly detained in connection with an incident that occurred in the Chelsea district of New York.
There are conflicting reports as the exact circumstances of the incident. Detective Madelyne Gailndo of the New York Police Department said that she could not specify what the weapon was or who was assaulted in the incident, MTV News reports.
As previously reported by NME.COM, Busta Rhymes' bodyguard Israel Ramirez was shot on the set of Rhymes’ current single ’Touch It’ in July.
