Busta Rhymes in driving charge

Busta Rhymes in driving charge

Busta Rhymes has been charged with driving with a suspended licence after he was stopped going through a red light.

The rapper was taken into custody in Manhatten, New York after police pulled him over.

Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, faces the prospect of 15 days in prison if convicted, reports BBC News.

The arrest comes after the 34-year-old recently found himself embroiled in two separate assault cases.

The first relates to an assault charge on his former driver Edward Hatchett last December in a dispute over pay.

The second involves an assault charge on a fan who allegedly spat on his car.

He has already rejected an offer of six months in jail to settle over both assault charges.
