'Orange Is The New Black' creator wrote Busta Rhymes superhero show pilot
Jenji Kohan is behind the Netflix show about a Stateside women's prison
A new Hollywood Reporter piece on the television writer and producer, says that before Kohan started work on Orange Is The New Black and its forerunner Weeds, she was working as a staff writer and on pilot scripts "that went nowhere", including one which saw rapper Busta Rhymes playing a superhero.
Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes will make his UK festival debut at Bestival next month. The rapper joins a list of acts playing the festival including OutKast, Chic, Disclosure and Major Lazer plus London Grammar, Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Caribou and Chvrches.
Speaking about securing Busta Rhymes, Bestival organiser Rob da Bank says: "Woo hah people! Yes it's true, Busta Rhymes has got you all in check and he's coming to Bestival for his first ever UK festival appearance! I'm such a Busta fan and it's amazing not just to see him back in the charts with another banger with 'Thank You', but also to know he's getting on the ferry and bringing it to Bestival!"
Earlier this year Bestival announced its fancy dress plans for 2014. This year the Isle of Wight event will stage a tropical 'Desert Island Disco' theme, following 2013's nautical 'HMS Bestival' theme. For more information, visit Bestival.net.
