Blonde Redhead, Ben Harper also rock LA Street Fair

Buzzcocks' rousing Sunday night (August 19) performance was one of the main attractions of this weekend's Sunset Junction Street Fair, held in the Silver Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

The old-school punks played a hit-filled set as the sun went down over the festival, effortlessly breezing through their back catalogue with the energy of men half their age.

With a Union Jack displayed proudly onstage, the 50-something Mancunians played hits including 'Sick City Sometimes' and 'What Do I Get?', which left the teenagers in front breathless from moshing.

Before calling it a night, the band returned for a three-song encore including 'Harmony In My Head', 'Ever Fallen In Love?' and 'Orgasm Addict' that left Steve Diggle writhing on the floor, bowing his guitar with a half-full bottle of champagne that spilled over onto the ecstatic front row.

Earlier in the weekend, paved the way for Saturday night's headliners with their shoegazing-inspired set, which was preceded by performances from local bands The Broken West and Sea Wolf.

At sunset, Blonde Redhead transfixed a massive crowd of loyal fans with their dreamy, ethereal rock, opening for California troubadour Ben Harper.
