Calvin Harris hails Number One album at V Festival Stafford show
He's in the mood to celebrate his success with festival revellers
The scot played to a heaving tent, and was in celebratory mood from the off. Before playing the album's title track, Harris quietened the audience down to inform them he had managed to hit the Number One spot.
"Listen, today I got to Number One in the album charts. It was a good moment!" he beamed. "So I'd like to say thank you to anyone who bought it - thank you! And this is the title track from it."
Elsewhere in his set, Harris sheepishly made reference to his scruffy attire (he was wearing a red T-shirt and jeans).
"I'd like to say, I forgot my stage outfit...I want to apologise for looking like I'm on holiday!" he said, though the audience didn't seem to mind his dress code.
Fan favourite 'The Girls' predictably drew massive cheers when Harris sang "I like those Stafford girls!" towards the start of the track. Elsewhere in the set, 'Merrymaking At My Place' and 'Acceptable In The 80s' both saw the sea of revellers dancing and singing along.
Set closer 'I'm Not Alone' was the best received track of the evening, with the keyboard-led chorus inciting the tent to sing along while Harris jumped around the stage cheering them on.
Calvin Harris played:
'Disco Heat'
'Merrymaking At My Place'
'Colours'
'Ready For The Weekend'
'You Used To Hold Me'
'Acceptable In The 80's'
'Burns Night'
'Flashback'
'The Girls'
'I'm Not Alone'
