Calvin Harris replaces Duran Duran at V Festival 2011
Dance star steps in after band are forced to postpone their European tour
Calvin Harris will replace Duran Duran at this year's V Festival after the band were forced to postpone part of their European tour.
The dance star will headline the Arena Stage in Chelmsford and Staffordshire over the weekend of August 20-21. Duran Duran pulled out due to ongoing vocal troubles with frontman Simon Le Bon.
The singer damaged his voice while performing at the Cannes Film Festival. The injury has left him without the use of the top range of his vocal chords.
The band's European tour was due to begin in Dublin on July 14 and run through until September.
The injury has also caused the band to pull out of their forthcoming iTunes Festival show in London as well on July 16.
This year's V Festival will be headlined by Eminem and Arctic Monkeys.
The full line-up is as follows:
Manic Street Preachers
Chase and Status
Scouting For Girls
Big Audio Dynamite
You Me At Six
Fun Lovin' Criminals
Ocean Colour Scene
